The first six years of life, when unconscious learning is gradually brought to the conscious level, are crucial in human development.  At the primary level, between the ages of 3 to 6 years of age, the child possesses unusual sensitivity and mental powers for absorbing and learning from the environment.  At this level there is a greater need & potential for disciplined work and a natural desire to learn.  To aid the child in this period of heightened receptivity, the Montessori classroom provides a unique range of materials, guided by a teacher trained to work with each child at their level of development.  The child chooses materials which encourage exploration and each student works at their own pace.  In the classroom, the child's creative energy is freed and each student develops independence, self-discipline and the habit of work.   The student moves with self confidence towards a mastery of skills and ideas.  During the primary level each child is guided physically, emotionally and intellectually and is ready for abstract learning experiences.  Our curriculum includes Practical Life, Sensorial, Math, Language, Botany, Geography, Science, Art, Music, Spanish and much more.
